Amazing transformation and improvement to your land can happen when you use prescribed fire as a management tool.  North Florida Prescribed Burn Association helps private landowners use prescribed fire effectively and safely.  Working with others landowners with the expectation of their help on your land makes this possible.   Prescribed burning is one tool for land improvement; you can be sure that your PBA has the expertise to help you burn your property safely and at the best time of year to maximize the benefits of fire.  This however, is just the beginning of what your membership will provide.  Your involvement and working relationships with other members and professional associates may include: 

• Learning proper herbicide selection and use

• Controlling invasive plants and animals

• Discovering cost share opportunities

• Techniques to improve understory

• Tree planting assistance

• Land tours to visit other member properties to learn from improvements in progress on their land

• Experience needed to independently burn your property and, if you desire, work toward becoming a certified burn manager

For those members seeking to learn, participate in and benefit from our planning experience there are no requirements other than following simple safety rules for an activity - and follow the instructions of the Burn Boss.
